I was born and raised in Hubertus, WI to awesome parents who workout at Badger as some of our oldest members. (CrossFit is for all!) I have been involved in sports since I was 6 years old, and was a 4-sport athlete (volleyball, soccer, track, and basketball), while playing year round-volleyball, which meant a high-school sport and club sport at the same time. I learned early on what hard work means and that there is a bright side to everything. It is so easy to let life bring us down, but I have always chosen to find the good and that serves me well as a coach. I empathize with my clients, yet know when to push them out of their comfort zones. I can relate to just about everyone and my number one priority is making sure everyone that steps through our doors feels welcome.
My turning points were my sophomore year of highschool and my senior year of college. I was not naturally gifted in athletics, and had to work my butt off to not be clumsy. After my sophomore volleyball season, my coach chatted with me about taking my game to the next level and what it would take. I put my head down and not only helped my high school team win back to back state championships, but also played Division 1 and Professional Volleyball Overseas as well. The second turning point that happened to me was my senior year of college. My then boyfriend was in a traumatic accident that caused a head injury. He was in a coma for a week during the heart of my season and three days before he passed, my grandma also passed. The day after he passed we had a volleyball match. Most didn't expect me to show up, let alone play. I have continued to show up every day since. Experiencing traumatic loss at a young age taught me how precious and short life is and that giving my best every day is the only option.
My purpose for coaching is to help others realize their full potential. Life is hard, and it is easy to knock ourselves down, or let others do it for us. It is easy to let distractions keep us from making our health and fitness a priority as well. It doesn't matter your age or how out of shape you think you are, I am here to help each member on their fitness journey and meet them where they are at.
