I work for a large healthcare company were I negotiate contracts all day and am also an Army Logistics Officer. I have been in the Army National Guard for 21 years. I ran track in high school and participated in triathlons in my 20's along with a few half-marathons. I grew up in Miami, FL and have been in Wisconsin for 8 years now. I love the community I live in. I love spending time with my Miami and Wisconsin family. My kids keep me busy with all sorts of activities. I love being their mom! — How did you get into CrossFit? After my second child in 2012 I needed a workout routine to help me get back into shape for the Army physical fitness test. My spouse at the time had heard of Badger and I joined as soon as I could go back to exercising. I was hooked, I loved the variety of the exercises. In 2014 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had a hard time feeling normal again after getting my thyroid removed and treatment. The Badger staff was so supportive throughout it all and I was sad to stop in 2014, but it was the best choice for me at that time. I am now cancer free and was so happy to return to Crossfit. I worked with Tina for a bit, and joined a bootcamp class and then Function. I moved over to Crossfit in October 2018. — How has CrossFit changed you outside the gym? I have so much energy and feel motivated to live life to the fullest. I come to the 5am class everyday and that sets me up for success for the rest of the day. — What makes Badger CrossFit unique? The people and coaches at BCF are amazing!! The coaches take the time to help you out with technique and give great advice. Everyone here makes you feel welcomed and supported! — Advice for people just getting started: Don't be afraid to come in and give it a try. You will be sore the first few weeks but it's a good sore. The coaches will help you through it all and you will find a new family here. It's so worth coming and sticking to it.
