Welcome Jake and Justin to our 2019 CDP!

Welcome Jake and Justin to the Coaches Development Program (CDP).

Badger CrossFit prides itself on having some of the best CrossFit coaching in the country. With such a high standard, we do not bring on many potential coaches to coach our valued members and athletes. Not just a set of eyes or someone to motivate, we pride ourselves in the development of you, the public, into athletes. The CDP is our way of ensuring coaches are here to learn, lead, and provide the proper instruction and atmosphere to our valued members, and  learn the ins and outs of coaching, mindset and expectations in general in a functional fitness facility. We pride ourselves in this program, and helping the coaches meet their goals of becoming coaches, whether full-time or part-time within our organization. You will see both of them in our classes and soon leading them after a certain period of time. Be sure to say hi, and congratulate them on their new endeavors.

About Jake

I am from Waukesha, WI. Graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2017 where I played football, competed for a national championship, and earned a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Strength and Conditioning. My first internship was with the UWO strength and conditioning program where I worked with all varsity collegiate sports. I moved down to San Antonio for two years to spend time with family, gain experience in the fitness and physical therapy fields, and ultimately found CrossFit.

I started as an intern coach and eventually moved into a head coach position with Elite CrossFit. I recently moved back home to the Milwaukee area to be closer to family and friends and look forward to joining the team at Badger!

About Justin

I have a background and passion in Strength and Conditioning. It started in high school when we got a new teacher/coach who started up a Strength and Speed Program at our school. I immediately fell in love with training for my sport (football). After High school, I played football at a small college in Nebraska where I played a LOT of special teams (nice way of saying I did not start). It was during that time that I dabbled in CrossFit to train for football and I got my Level 1 a year later.

Since college, I have been teaching Theology, Health, Physical Education and coaching (Football, Strength and Conditioning) at Racine Lutheran High school and also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

I also coached at Crossfit 414 for 2 years after moving to Milwaukee. I look forward to joining the team at Badger CrossFit!
