11/20 WOD: Cardio = Running? Whatevs...

It amazing how the general population thinks that "cardio" is one thing....running. Or even more correct......jogging. Cardio work is ANYTHING that gets you breathing hard. If you are doing an activity in which you are depleting your body of oxygen, you will then start to breath more rapidly and deeper. Your heart will begin to beat faster so that your body can get rid of carbon dioxide and get that new oxygen to the muscles that are working. Since you are doing full body, compound movements here each and everyday, the use of your large muscles will need more and more oxygen while you are burning more and more calories. What we do, whether we are running or not, is making your body work. We actually blur the line between strength and cardio work. We will force your body to increase your cardio/respiratory endurance, and stamina while at the same time increasing your strength, and power. You won't need to do cardio because you are already doing it...just at very high intensity! Mmmmmm I love this stuff!BCF Christmas Party December 15th at 7pm!
