5/8 "Thursday"

Strength: 3 position cleanWOD:Hang Power Clean, front Squat, Jerk, Thruster

"730 days ago I walked out of Badger Crossfit Elements class humbled and excited. I had just experienced the first days of what Crossfit is all about. I had no idea that 2 years later I would be able to do the things I am capable of now. When I finished Elements I could barely do the Burgener warm up cause it was such a new complex concept to me and I never thought I would be able to master it or the snatch. As with other movements like handstand pushups or muscle ups I could only dream of one day being able to do them. In the early months I always asked what to scale to and Tyler always knew the right weight or band to use in the WOD and slowly as time passed the weights got heavier and scaled in general less. I was excited to see one day that I could actually RX a workout and felt like I had come really far. I remember my first actual WOD was “Sevens" ; Tyler said might as well start with one of the hardest. Almost 2 years later I did that WOD again and did way better, I knew I had come a long way. I never dreamed I would be able to do a muscle up now or handstand pushups, being upside down on the wall freaked me out. With the help of Tyler and the other coaches I learned the progressions and practiced before and after WODs when I could and slowly started to master complex movements. Now days I can RX most WODs and finish with respectable times. I can lift more weight and am stronger than I could ever have thought. The only thing better than lifting heavy weights is doing it with great people at the gym. When I first started I knew only one friend who also went to BCF, but the atmosphere was completely different than any other gym I had ever been to. The people you workout with become more than just workout buddies they become great friends and the whole gym is a community. BCF has so many great people and great coaches. I have been lucky enough to have been there from pretty early on and the way the gym and the community have grown I don’t think can be matched anywhere. As I look back on the past 2 years through ups and downs in my life there has always been one place I would always want to go, always want to workout at, sometimes just hang out at, that place is Badger Crossfit. What Tyler Sullivan has built with the help of so many people is truly amazing. I am proud to be able to call my box Badger Crossfit. Thanks to all the coaches and people at BCF for a great last 2 years and here's to continuing forward for years to come. Last but not least everyone knows that Badger Crossfit would not have been possible without Tyler Sullivan and his family. I want personally thank Tyler and Amy for all that they have done to make BCF possible because without you a lot of us would have never have found Crossfit or the many friends and memories we now share."-Roger Karnath, April Elements 2012
