Badger CrossFit Strength Program Coming Soon!

The Badger CrossFit strength program is ON! It will be a great way to supplement what you are currently doing at BCF, or it could be all that you do… the point is that strength is crucial to many things in CrossFit, and by building up this base you will become a better athlete overall.

What?

CrossFit believes that there are ten general physical skills that need to be considered when defining fitness. An elite CrossFit athlete is proficient in all ten skills:Cardiovascular/Respiritory Endurance- The ability of body systems to gather , process and deliver oxygen.Stamina- The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.Strength- The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.Flexibility- The ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.Power- The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to deliver maximum force in minimum time.Speed- The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement .Coordination- The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.Agility- The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.Balance- The ability to control the placement of the body's center of gravity in relation to its support base.Accuracy- The ability to control movement at a given direction or at a given intensity.A deficiency in any one of the ten general skills will hinder your ability to achieve elite fitness. The goal of CrossFit is to increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domains. How strong do you need to be? Strong enough to increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domains. How flexible? Flexible enough to increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domains. How in control of your balance, agility or accuracy? Controlled enough to increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domains..... Get where I am going here?So our strength program is going to focus on the strength, power, speed, balance, accuracy, agility, and coordination components of the physical skills.

How?

Through Olympic Weightlifting, CrossFit Football and Powerlifting avenues.

When?

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30PM. Saturday at 7AM. See calendar on a routine basis as this program will continue all summer. Even though there is a general CrossFit class going at that time, we can utilize the other half of the gym to do what we need to. Since that class is usually the least attended, the impact to space and equipment will be minimal right now.If you are interested in this or have questions, please contact Troy or myself. Troy will be running the show for this program, with my assistance during the Saturday morning, which will be more focused on Olympic Weightlifting at this time.Let’s get strong!Tyler and Troy
